Silvia's time in Ireland

"A best friend is like a four-leaf clover, hard to find and lucky to have." (Irish saying about friendship)

Silvia's video of Ireland and a short report:

I have spent four months in Ireland and I could not imagine how wonderful this time was going to be. First when I came here, I was very insecure with my English, but time went by and I got used to it. I remember the first days with my family. I wanted to tell them so much but I just didn't have the words for it. Although I really liked my family since the first day, they accepted me as part of their family and they made it easy to feel comfortable in their home. Sometimes we did something over the weekends, we went for a walk, they took me to play golf or showed me beautiful places in Ireland. I am so glad to visit so many places here in Ireland and no matter with whom I went, my family, my host family or my friends I was always again impressed by this beautiful country. It has beautiful landscapes, a lot of small towns, live music everywhere and my personal highlight is the endless sky. Since I came around there a lot, I was constantly amazed by the kindness of the Irish people. Especially at school, it was a pleasure for me to get to know so many different people. First, I was a little bit confused, but I quickly noticed that I was not the only exchange student there. Especially from Spain, a lot of people are coming to Ireland to improve their English. Maybe that is the reason why people here are in general more open and very friendly. Since my first day I continually learned to know new people. When the weather was getting better, me and my friends didn't go home after school, instead we went to the park, played basketball or football and tried to spend as much time together as possible. I am very glad to have had the possibility of making an exchange like this and I would recommend it to everyone who wants to see more of the world, who wants to get to know another culture and who wants to meet a lot of different people.
