Celebrating multiculturalism

In its third consecutive year of success, we are glad to share the achievements of our project, the “Multilingual Vorlesetag 2024”. Thirty-six students with diverse migration backgrounds visited the Pestalozzi Elementary School to read fairy tales in their native languages, representing 12 different languages and countries. It was a touching experience for many young listeners who recognized their own mother tongues. Alongside the storytelling, our students were invited to join a grandiose buffet featuring culinary specialities from around the world, creating a feast for all the participants. This event celebrated our multicultural community, showcasing the power of literature to rise above language and cultural barriers and encourage understanding and joy in sharing precious moments of personal growth. We extend our gratitude to all participants and look forward to continuing conversations about respectfulness and potential of storytelling in building inclusive communities.
